Proposed 2024-2027 WIOA Combined State Plan Open for Public Comment
(January 24, 2024) This is to notify the public and interested parties that the Arkansas Workforce Development Board is seeking comments on the 2024-2027 Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Combined State Plan. The public comment period begins on January 24, 2024, at 8:00 a.m. and ends on February 25, 2024, at 4:30 p.m.
Every four years, Arkansas submits a combined state plan to the U.S. Department of Labor and Department of Education outlining how it helps its residents, including youth and those with significant barriers to employment, find high-quality jobs and careers, and employers hire and retain skilled workers.
The following programs are partners in this combined plan:
- WIOA Title I Adult Program
- WIOA Title I Dislocated Worker Program
- WIOA Title I Youth Program
- WIOA Title II Adult Education and Family Literacy Act Program
- WIOA Title III Wagner-Peyser Employment Services
- WIOA Title IV Vocational Rehabilitation Program through Arkansas Rehabilitation Services
- WIOA Title IV Vocational Rehabilitation Program through the Division of Services for the Blind
- Unemployment Insurance
- Jobs for Veterans State Grant
- Migrant and Seasonal Farmworkers Program
- Trade Adjustment Assistance for Workers Program
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Employment & Training Program
The state plan is available online at https://bit.ly/ADWS_WIOA, and a hard copy will be available at each of the Arkansas Workforce Centers and at Arkansas Rehabilitation Services offices. A copy in Braille is also available at 1 Commerce Way, Little Rock, AR 72202, Room 213. The Arkansas Division of Workforce Services (ADWS) will hold a meeting for public comment on February 7, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the ADWS central office, 2 Capitol Mall, Little Rock, AR 72201, 5th floor conference room. Individuals may join this meeting virtually via Zoom as well.
