Intern Opportunities

Arkansas Rehabilitation Services Practicum & Intern Opportunities

Arkansas Rehabilitation Services (ARS) offers non-paid practicums and internships for undergraduate and graduate students. ARS offers placement opportunities to students whose educational background aligns with vocational rehabilitation services. We are strongly interested in offering students an opportunity to work closely with a certified rehabilitation counselor (CRC). Onsite and virtual opportunities are available.

Benefits

Our staff helps thousands of individuals with disabilities each year with meeting vocational outcomes. You will have an opportunity to work directly with your onsite supervisor to implement the many things you have learned during your educational experience.

Responsibilities

Candidates chosen to complete a practicum or intern placement with the agency will be expected to coordinate client services including conducting intakes and vocational assessments; determining eligibility; providing vocational counseling; developing Individual Plans for Employment; providing transition services, and any other service needed to help Arkansans with disabilities with achieving a vocational outcome.  The candidate will also be expected to work in the electronic case file system documenting actions taken throughout the counseling process. In addition to working with the placement supervisor, the candidate will be expected to participate in staff meetings, staff training, and any other activity deemed necessary by the local Rehabilitation Area Manager or the Deputy Chief of Field Services.
