THE PROCUREMENT UNIT OF THE OFFICE OF FINANCE HAS THE PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY AND OVERSIGHT FOR THE AGENCY-WIDE PROCUREMENT OF COMMODITIES, TECHNICAL AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICES.
The Arkansas Division of Workforce Services is dedicated to helping build strong families by connecting Arkansans to employment, education, and supportive services. DWS considers collaborations and partnerships essential to the success of the TANF programs. Our goal is to provide programs and services that will positively impact Arkansas families seeking to move from dependency to self-sufficiency.
TANF funding opportunities in Arkansas are based on Arkansas Act 1705 of 2005 which created the Community Investment Initiative and authorized the use of TANF funds to contract with private or community organizations (including faith-based organizations) to offer services and support to parents, children, and youth in their communities.
Act 1217 of 1999 created the Family Savings Initiative that established the TANF Individual Development Accounts (IDA) program. These accounts are designed to provide saving and asset(s) accumulation opportunities for individuals and families with limited means.
Act 907 of 2015 created the TANF Oversight Committee as part of the Arkansas Workforce Development Board. The TANF Oversight Committee does not solicit and/or accept funding proposals. DWS has legislative authority to contract with providers for programs and services that benefit TANF clients.
In 2005, DWS assumed responsibility for the TANF program and implemented a procurement and sub award process for acceptance of Requests for Proposals (RFP) and Requests for Applications (RFA) throughout the fiscal year, from providers offering programs and services for TANF clients. Organizations are encouraged to monitor the DWS/TANF website or Office of State Procurement website – for TANF funding opportunities, posted as each RFP/ RFA is released.
TANF funding opportunities will be posted to the DWS/TANF website under Temporary Assistance for Needy Families. DWS will also email TANF funding opportunities to individuals listed in the TANF contact database. In our efforts to notify potential partners of funding opportunities, DWS created a database of contacts. If your organization would like to be included in the TANF contact database, please inform the TANF Grants Management Unit at P.O. BOX 2981, Little Rock, AR 72203 or email ADWS.TANF.Contract.Unit@aesd.arkansas.gov.
We appreciate your interest in providing services to TANF clients.
