Extended Benefits Program

Extended Benefit Program Closed on September 26, 2009

As a result of Arkansas' Insured Unemployment Rate falling below 5% the Extended Benefit Program, which provides additional unemployment insurance benefits to individuals who exhaust their regular and Emergency Unemployment Compensation benefits closed September 26, 2009. No further Extended Benefits can be paid for any weeks of unemployment that begin after the end of an Extended Benefit Period even if there is an available balance on an Extended Benefit claim. The Department of Workforce Services will notify all individuals who may be eligible for extended benefits should Arkansas enter into another Extended Benefit Period in the future.
